In 2022, a blower system for two biological reactors was programmed and commissioned. The control panel communicated via Profibus with an existing panel equipped with a Siemens S7-300, which was responsible for the overall control of the plant. Signals from the two oximeters were taken from this panel to set the operating parameters for the blowers.
The frequency converters for the four blowers were supplied by the customer, and the assembly and integration work was carried out. In addition, double-acting pneumatic valves with limit switches were installed and configured to complete the automation of the system.
Subsequently, in 2024, the blower system was adapted to expand its functionality: in addition to the existing automatic control, the possibility of working in stages was incorporated. This improvement allowed for more flexible, optimised and efficient operation, better suited to the actual needs of the plant and contributing to greater energy savings.
